Donating

As the C&G Society, we are charged with maintaining communications and fellowship between the current delegations and all of our alums, which we’ve been doing with our email newsletters, mailed postcards, and for those alumni who prefer physical mail, mailing out printed newsletters. All of this does cost money; the most recent postcard mailing to notify alumni cost $773.35, and mailing out the newsletters to alums will cost far more than that. We will also have website and alumni database costs, as well as alumni gatherings like Homecoming, Spring Feed, etc. Our goal is to be completely transparent with our cost structure so you know where your donations are going. We expect costs to run about $5000 per year if we do two newsletter mailings.

As Ed and Tom had said in one of their letters, the Castle has had years of deferred maintenance; we know in the future we will need to do a Capital Campaign for repairs, but currently any donations would be for the operating costs of the C&G Senior Society.

How You Can Help

If you haven’t already done so, please email us to let us know you’d prefer email only to receive electronic copies of updates, voting ballots, etc. This will dramatically lower our operating costs as well as using up less paper.

While all donations are appreciated, they are not tax deductible as charitable donations. We’ve looked and the trustees in the past have investigated this for years and it’s just not possible to make C&G a 501c3.
